Clarence Charles "Corky" Billen Jr.
born August 11, 1930 died peacefully March 29, 2010 joining his parents,
Clarence and Juanita and his beloved son, Steven. Corky was an accomplished
athlete. During his high school career he earned many honors in basketball,
football, baseball and track. He will be inducted into the St. Gregory's
Athletic Hall of Fame, Shawnee, Oklahoma. He served in the Air Force at Clark
AFB in the Philippine Islands. After his discharge he returned to Oklahoma City
and joined the FAA until his retirement in 1986. After retirement he devoted his
time to his family and his love of golf. He became associated with Oklahoma Golf
Association until a slight stroke prevented him from working and playing with
his many friends. Corky is survived by his best friend and devoted wife of 55
years, Margaret; children, Donna McClure (Steve), Susanne, Mark (Bette) all of
Oklahoma City and Ann Hosokawa (Ray) of Azle, Texas; eleven grandchildren, four
great grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Glenda) of Littleton, CO, Donovan
(Isabelle) of Midwest City; sister, Kathleen Leser (Bob) of Las Cruces, New
Mexico; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Integris Hospice
for their care of Corky in his final days. There will be cremation. In lieu of
flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity. Visitation
will be held 10am-11am Friday, April 2, 2010 at Matthews Funeral Home. A
graveside memorial service will be 11:30am Friday at Gracelawn Cemetery.
