Kenneth S. Hunt
Kenneth Hunt, passed away on
Ken retired in 1986 to become an apple grower in Idaho with his wife Barbara. When Barbara retired, she moved to Palm Springs and he followed when he sold the farm.
Ken began life in Griffin, Spalding Co. Georgia, son of Dr. Kenneth Stoval Hunt, MD and Elizabeth Everett
A golfer nearly from birth, he received his first set of custom made clubs at the age of four, and his love of golf continued throughout his nearly 81 years. Ken was always a desired addition to a foursome because he was a scratch golfer or near that level, an elegant man who knew the game, and was always kind and helpful to novices and beginners.
Ken was a member of O’Donnell Golf Club, and Desert riders so many of his dearest friends were met there.
His other passion was showing horses. He had ridden as a youth and after a 50 year hiatus he bought a beautiful black Tennessee Walking Horse mare and championed her under saddle and in harness for many years, and even rode her on several Desert Riders rides on the historic trails surrounding Palm Springs.
He leaves many friends, his brother Dr Ton Hunt of Griffin, GA. His daughters Liz Wilson of Andrews, NC, Erin Johnson, of Boise, ID; Andrea Nickel of Jacksonville, NC and adopted daughter Julie Boeshans of San Diego, CA; 4 grandsons, and wife Barbara Ady
