Noel L. Worthy
1921 - 2010
I am sad to inform you of the death of Noel L. Worthy on July 2, 2010 at the age of 89 years young.. Noel was a member of the Flight Standards Retirees and an FAA Flight Standards Principal Maintenance Inspector from 1960 to 1984. In his 24 years of service he worked in the Oklahoma City GADO from 1960 to 1970, the San Antonio GADO from 1970 to 1975, and the Dallas FSDO from 1975 to 1984 with several assignments at the Southwest Regional Office during this time.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Dean Worthy and a son, Michael Worthy. He is survived by two sons, James Worthy of Chandler, Oklahoma and myself Gary Worthy of Trophy Club, Texas. I am a member of FSR currently with 23 years FAA service as a Principal Maintenance Inspector in the San Antonio and Fort Worth FSDOs.
Noel was the recipient of The Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award and The Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award. He will be missed as a Father, Friend and Mentor. We were blessed with his presents on this earth for 89 years and now he rests in the hands of God.
